Why the minute decides it — most of all for the Moon

Here is the reason a birth time is asked for, sharper for the Moon than for anything else in the sky. The Sun moves through a whole sign in about a month, so the date alone can name it. The rising sign turns every couple of hours, so it needs the minute. But the Moon is the fastest body of all — it crosses a whole sign in only two or three days — so on the day you were born it may well have changed signs partway through, and two people born the same date a few hours apart can carry different Moons entirely.
