The Book ofThe Sky

A natal chart is not a horoscope, and it is older than the word. Before your book is written, it may help to know what is actually being read — the horizon at your birth, the sign rising over it, the difference between the star you were born under and the one that was climbing. What follows is a small library in the same voice your book is written in: first the foundations, then a plain word-list and a short history, then the Sun, the Moon and the rising sign read through all twelve signs.

The Sun in the signs The star you were born under — the core of the self, read through each of the twelve signs.
The Moon in the signs The inner, private self beneath the daylight one — read through the signs. (The Moon moves so fast even the date can't always name it.)
The rising sign, sign by sign The manner a life arrives in — the sign that was climbing the horizon at your birth minute, through all twelve.

When you're ready to read your own — not the sign, but the exact minute —
